Life In Green Screen

maxresdefault

All our realities

These days, it seems

Projected to us

Against green screens,

And produced

Behind the scenes

To be just how

Real life seems

And the banished children

Of our culture wars

Left forgotten and hungry

Wanting more and more,

Sunburnt and frostbit

From within big-box stores

Swiping left or swiping right;

It doesn’t matter anymore

We play our parts,

All on the dole,

Stuffing ourselves

To feed the hole;

Don’t you know anything?

Know your role!

I only know

What’s in my soul

And it feels empty these days
