Milestone

I’ve officially hit 100 followers. This milestone is, to say the least, quite humbling.

I’ve said it before — I don’t write for the sake of anyone but myself, as I believe any writer should, but none of us want to write in a vacuum. To know anyone actually reads my work, much less like it enough to want to have it sent to their streams, is pretty awesome, though, and I can’t thank you guys enough.

I could take the cynical view and say most of my followers are inactive or passive, or just followed my blog to get another follow on theirs, but there are definitely some of you out there who I know consistently read my posts, and I can’t thank you enough.

I started this blog back in October of last year largely as an exercise in self-discipline. My goal was to write something once a day. As time went on, that goal narrowed to poetry. And, as anyone who may try to write a poem a day might discover, that turned into a healthy dose of Haiku. I don’t claim to be great at either Haiku or poetry in general, but I do feel I’ve developed a form that definitely feels like my own. And, while I’ve undoubtedly treated you all to some hot garbage, I’d like to think most of it has been pretty good. Some of it, i dare say, really good.

Regardless of your thoughts on the quality of my work, however, you are following and reading and I am eternally grateful.

I thank you all for your likes, your comments (of which I can never get enough), and most of all your interest. I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon.

Thank you all again for your readership. Good luck with your writing as well!
